Introduction
”Kinodendo” is the museum of wood culture which was opened in 1994. It was constructed in the forest of Torogawadaira, using a huge amount of cedar and cedar laminated wood. It was deigned by Tadao Ando. Inside the hall which has a ceiling height of 16 m and has scent of tree, models of wooden houses and wooden tools around the world are exhibited, and various cultures originated from trees are introduced. In the workshop, Thor paint classes and “kumiki” (wood handicraft) classes are held regularly.

Access
By Car
- Take the Chugoku Expressway to Fukusaki I.C., and then take the Bantan way to Wadayama I.C., and then take the Kitakinki -Toyooka Expressway to Hyonosen I.C, and take the Route 9 for Sekinomiya, and then turn left at Uwanokogenguchi Intersection.
- Take the Maizuru Expressway to Kasuga I.C.,and then take the Kitakinki -Toyooka Expressway to Hyonosen I.C., and take the Route 9 for Sekinomiya, and then turn left at Uwanokogenguchi Intersection.
* In the winter time, you should use snow tires or tire chains.
By Train & Bus
Get off at Yoka Station (2.5 hour’s train ride from Osaka and Kobe).
Take Zentan Bus bound for “Muraoka” or ” Akioka” or “Yumura Onsen”, then get off at “Hachikitaguchi” bus stop. And it takes about 1 hour to walk to the Museum.
